Bourbon Review: Woodford Reserve Double Oaked

The Woodford Reserve Distillery - Straight Bourbon Whiskey - 90.4 proof

"An innovative approach to twice-barreled bourbon creates the rich and colorful flavor of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked.".

"The art of making fine bourbon first took place on the site of the Woodford Reserve Distillery, a National Historic Landmark, in 1812. You get that sense of history. The history of bourbon is the history of Kentucky, is the history of the United States."

“This one might be a good one to try if you're wanting to get into ryes. It's light and easy, not too spicy for a typical bourbon drinker.“

For our January #liveshow at Pub Frato Gastropub, we took a shot at reviewing a classic whiskey from a classic distiller. Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is something that is accessible, affordable, and according to us, quite delicious! It’s been quite a while since either of us had sat down with a pour of Double Oaked, and we were both very happy with the decision! Profound oak and vanilla/caramel, coupled with a nice even finish that lasts longer than expected. Per the usual, we look at five different categories in our own terms: Bottle, Appearance, Smell, Value, and Taste. Enjoy the review, drop us a comment and make sure you subscribe to our podcast, YouTube, like us on Facebook and Instagram.
